NAME Honeyshine
GENDER Female
CLAN RiverClan
RANK Warrior
MENTOR
AGE 16 moons
DESCRIPTION Two-toned ginger and brown she-cat
APPEARANCE
Honeyshine is a two-toned pretty kitty. Half of her face is a light shade of ginger while the other half is a light brown color. It's an odd mixture, to be sure. The rest of her pelt comes and goes in thick tabby swirls. Sometimes those swirls are ginger, sometimes they're brown. The only bit of fur on her that doesn't belong to that color scheme is the white on her chin, throat, and muzzle. Her whiskers are shorter than most, but they're still a brilliant white that stands out even against her fur.
Her eyes are a bright green color that shine even in the dark. They're naturally wide, giving her a constant look like she's excited all the time, even when she's not. Honeyshine's nose is a dark pink that's outlined in a dark brown. You wouldn't see the brown unless you payed close attention to her. She's built like any other RiverClanner. Her coat shines in the sunlight and sheds water easily, like the very fish that she eats.[/ul]
PERSONALITY
If anyone ever doubted her loyalty, they would have to give very good reasons unless they want to feel her claws. She's fiercely loyal to her Clan and the warrior code. She'd defend it with her life, and has done so on more than one occasion. She doesn't just blindly follow her leader, though. Honeyshine thinks for herself too. If she thinks her leader is doing something wrong, she'll speak out against it.
She wants to be leader one day. Every night she dreams about it. Hearing cats call her Honeystar, conducting ceremonies, giving the announcements at Gatherings, things like that! Just imagining it gives her a thrill from her nose to her tail tip. She knows she'll have to be patient. Very rarely do cats ever become leader, even if they're the best warrior the forest has ever seen. Honeyshine will become leader one day, even if she has to kill to do it...
Unless you're a full-blooded RiverClan cat, it's difficult to earn her trust and ridiculously easy to lose it. And once you lose her trust, it's next to impossible to get it back. Honeyshine will always doubt a half-Clan, no matter what that other half may be. She doesn't go out of her way to spite the ones she doesn't trust, but she'll never deny that she keeps a close watch on them.

HISTORY
Shadethorn and Willowberry were a happily mated couple. They were getting on in age, but they were still as spry and in love as they were when they were just new warriors. They'd already had two litters before trying for a third. This would be their last litter before they became elders. Their previous kits were already warriors with kits of their own, and were quite happy to have some new baby siblings. So imagine all of their disappointment when there was only one kit in the litter?
Honeykit was named for her pelt, which at the time was a pure golden color. The two-toned shades didn't show up until she was four moons old, when her fluff fell off. She followed her siblings around everywhere, and was quite annoying about it! She begged all of the time to be allowed out of camp. There was no denying that the sibling she liked the best was Rowanthorn. He was a ginger tabby tom, and also her eldest brother. He had two littermates, both she-cats. One was named Poppywing, and was ginger and white. The other was named Jaymist, and she was a dark gray tabby.
The next oldest litter only had two cats in it, and both were toms. The eldest was named Cedartail. Like Rowanthorn, he was a ginger tabby. The only difference was his eyes, which were blue instead of green. Then there was Nettleflame. He was like Jaymist, dark gray, but he had two white paws like Poppywing. He was the only one that had his own mate and kits. Honeykit couldn't fathom that she had nieces and nephews older than her, so she called them cousins instead.
Willowberry and Shadethorn spoiled Honeykit. Every time she asked for 'five more minutes' before bed time she was given it. Shadethorn brought her things to play with from outside of camp. He brought her an acorn once, and she and Poppywing batted it back and forth for hours before Poppywing had to leave on patrol. Honeykit approached her sixth moon with high hopes and lots of love.
Honeypaw's mentor wasn't one of her siblings, and this came as a surprise to everyone. A gray and white she-cat named Ottertail was chosen instead. Perhaps it was a good thing, as every single one of her siblings would have taken it easy on her. Ottertail never went easy on her. When she did something wrong, she was scolded and berated. When she did right, they just moved on to the next thing.
She strived to earn Ottertail's approval, even if her family gave her enough kind words that, if kind words were prey, they could feed the entire forest. She learned faster than any apprentice, and could hunt and train and fight as well as any warrior by the time she was ten moons old. Still, Ottertail called her a mouse-brain at every turn and cuffed her over the head. Every time one of her siblings called her out on it and asked her to treat Honeypaw better, the training just got rougher and harder. Ottertail never unsheathed her claws, though there were times when Honeypaw was afraid it would happen.
When she was 11 moons old, they had a battle with ThunderClan. They'd accused RiverClan of stealing their prey, and attacked them at their camp. Honeypaw fought as hard as she could. She chased away two invaders before her wounds caught up to her, and she fainted. When she woke up, she was in the medicine den. ThunderClan had been chased away, but at the death of a warrior. Honeypaw feared for her family, but then she learned that Ottertail had been the casualty. Oddly enough, she wasn't all that sad at the loss.
Warrior
She was named a warrior when her wounds healed fully. The leader gave her the name Honeyshine and gave her the virtues bravery and skill. She's been a warrior only for a few moons, but it's been oh-so-satisfying.
